Elephant

On a regular Monday, I was out doing rounds with the veterinarian. We stopped at the elephant house first to get the low-down on everyone there. All was going well when one of the female elephants wanted to go outside. She was a bit more spirited then the other girls and was anxious to get outside on her daily rounds. The keeper got her into position, asked for the usual stance, which is leg up, trunk up. She complied eagerly, fairly quivering with anticipation. The keeper gave the go ahead and opened the doors. She rushed outside happily. Just then we heard a beeping, as if a truck were backing up. In came the elephant, straight back the same way she rushed out. She backed into the back wall and stopped. So did the beeping. I looked at the doctor and said "I didn't know they came with that feature." She looked at me and said "Neither did I. You know, no one will ever believe that we witnessed that." We both burst into laughter. Who knew?
